About Us

God's Love Is For All!

Whoever you are, you are a beloved child, made in the fabulous image of God. SoCal Lutherans celebrates, accepts, and advocates for all God's children, especially those who have been marginalized in the church or in society. We want to make known the good news: God loves you, in all of your queerness.

The ELCA and ReconcilingWorks

Within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, congregations which have adopted an affirmative statement of LGBTQIA+ inclusion are known as "Reconciling in Christ" or RiC churches. ReconcilingWorks is the national organization that tracks and supports RiC congregations, and provides resources for individuals and organizations seeking to expand their welcome to all. To find a welcoming church in southern California, check our "Find a Church" page. To search all RiC congregations nationwide, visit Reconciling Works.

The Clarence E. Anderson Peace and Justice Award is given annually to those who work to further LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the church.

Support our Work

If you would like to support the work of fostering inclusive faith communities in southern California and Hawaii, please check out our Resources page or connect with an RiC congregation near you! If you want to support our work with a financial donation, SoCal Lutherans encourages you to make a donation directly to ReconcilingWorks, the national organization.
